Did you watch all adaptations and read the novel in a week? That’s impressive! And I do agree with you, the novel really does help in understanding the whole of MDZS and imo it also explains things the best!
Nothing is impossible if you love it, they say Definitely ! (Though I had the google every second since I have a hard time remembering names ) Seriously, Mo dao zu shi is the only novel that I'm willing to read again (And I rarely, if not never read the same story again) I don't know if it's because of the plot, their relationship, or the well written character- or maybe all of them, perhaps.

I agree with you! I’m a slow reader so the novel took me a few weeks to finish MDZS was what got me into reading in the first place, I never thought I would pick up a book for fun but here I am! MDZS is definitely a book that you can re read many times and not get tired of, it’s probably all that you mentioned that makes it such an amazing story, I have yet to find another story like MDZS
