In the first timeline the saintess actually tricked him into following her into korea, cus she wanted to have all the credit, so he was in a new world where he got tricked to be in, he couldn't trust anybody that why he treated her so coldly, this is all I can remember but there's more spoiler if you scroll back into the comments
