We kind of use both. For example, I know my height in cm and weight in kg, but when asked I always use pounds and feet. Same for distances; our speed limit signs are in miles, but when talking about distance when walking I use kilometers. We are a hybrid, most likely due to our proximity to the USA and historical ties to the UK. I hope this helps :)
