I don't think he would, honestly. He's the type to fall in and out of "love" easily and they're better friends than that. Also, how dramatic to get mad over the "go get it yourself". I saw another person comment how it was just a plot device so that the ml would get jealous, and it really is just that. Mc's best friend didn't talk to ml because he's too nervous. He asked his friend because he's in the same class as him. Simple as that.
I think you're getting off tracked by my point here. True, the best friend is nervous, but is that really a reason for him to not approach the ML? He managed to bag the other guys he dated (which are red flags) without the interference of the MC. Call me over reacting, sure, but as someone who actually have a healthy relationship with my best friend, I don't tolerate the way that MC's best friend responded to MC's request.
It's not as easy and simple as that, because characters are supposed to be likeable and relatable—and when a character is like this, whose whole character gets shriveled down to "gay best friend of the MC who dates handsome red flag guys that leaves him uses his best friend to get close to the main lead" and there's nothing likeable about him at all. Unlike the MC and the Main Lead—the MC is really adorable, smart, cares about his best friend, introvert, etc. ML is cold and nonchalant but has a soft spot for the main character and cares about him.
As the reader of this short story, I can say that the MC and the Main Lead are the only ones likeable so far. I'm confident in that matter because of what I mentioned in the previous paragraph.
