It was really wholesome that she was cooking out of the kindness of her heart for him but also filling the loneliness of her heart after her husband passed away.

makes one of the main characters a real despicable asshole. Other than being "cute," the female lead has no redeeming qualities. Although there is already a much nicer, worthy "rival" for the ML's affections, it's pretty much predestined that the ML will end up with the worst possible choice.
the new guy in chapter 7 looks even more likely to become a serious contender for the FL's affections. And, as usual, the male lead proves himself to be a total dickhead.
