the premise is good, and im very sure the intention for this was also a good one but after volume one it absolutely fails to continue with that — well not exactly, but the story goes in another direction
volume one is great, i cried, still it had a lot of issues (especially regarding the age gaps, that's pedophilia, DON'T sugar coat it, wished the author said it for what it is)
i think volume one did a great job, but i feel like i fail to understand it (skill issue of mine LMAO), i think the author wanted to make Miura and Jun like Freddie and Mary but it fails miserably because Miura never has any sort of development or understanding of gay people — she literally is the same as when the story starts, the whole 'BL star' and 'God is a fujoshi' honestly disgusted me so much that my stomach felt ill
I also failed to understand the ending of volume 1/start of volume 2 with the whole speech situation, maybe it was just me and my personal opinion but i felt that the kiss (and several other contact) between Miura and Jun was so unnecessary, I felt very confused during that part, plus Ono telling Jun to man up was so uncalled (???) like (?????????) wth. But even if the kiss wasn't unnecessary i think the meaning wasn't really explained throughly? or even implied
i lowkey feel dumb for not understanding the intention with Miura still wanting to date Jun, a part of me just sees it as a annoying straight girl who doesn't want to give up, but i know she doesn't mean any harm. i just think it wasn't very well explained in the manga, maybe i'm wrong or maybe it was better in the novel, miura as a character was pretty bad tbh
Something i disliked very much was how the author doesn't really call out homophobia; now I know 'Jun doesn't really care' but a it does affect him, and you'd expect that in a story about coming out as gay, it will talk about homophobia, but... it doesn't (and it's disappointing). It kind of just dismisses everything (Ono, the classmates, the teachers, etc. and even Jun) into a sort of 'oh they are not really homophobic', especially in the scene where Ono asks Ryouhei if he feels uncomfortable with Jun, because like ?????????????? wth , it's okay if he feels uncomfortable that's not bad, but it's not the same as the rest of the classmates bcs he still tries to understand Jun and cares for him while the other are literally insulting/mocking him
Another thing is I feel like the author wanted to show a lot of gay people's burdens with the AIDS/HIV but didn't delve into it(????) like, it was always vert lightly mentioned, they never really focused on it even though Mr. Fahrenheit's cousin (I refuse to acknowledge him as his lover, that's fucking sick) died from it, and Mr. Fahrenheit himself had HIV.
Also I felt it was weird af that Jun just comes out to his class straight away, like, that's so unnecessary, it's okay if you're proud of being gay, and thar he finally accepts himself but it's fucking dumb that he's outing himself, especially in a country like Japan, and it feels even more stupid that everyone is okay with it (?????) like, no dude, you're gonna fuck your social life even before it starts.
i'm tired and um didn't proofread this, sorry if i don't make sense, but anyways, um don't read this, it's just not good
there are way better stories regarding sexuality and this one isn't one of them, i would even say it is a very negative one bcs of all the stuff it lacks

personal opinion // i feel that in the novel it was way funnier ngl it was too brief in the manhwa, in the novel everyone freezes for like minutes and lee sayoung's messages are more annoying bcs mc is still frozen LMAO maybe if they didn't make the scene so short it would've been better

i'm reading it at mentoltrans https://mentoltrans.wordpress.com/
don't remember which chapter was it sorry but 20 smth

what was this chapter dawg literally got NEGATIVE PROGRESS ??? didn't know this shit could go so bad but it did and worse even
they kinda just ignored the sa/rape
Inhwee wanted to talk and ML was nervous af
then they didn't talk, and just kiss and everything's good now
and MC is also dumb af bcs he admitted he knows things are gonna go wrong if they don't talk and clear their misunderstandings but then says he wants to continue lying and is (sorta?) ok with Jeongwon lying too wth

the story is pretty mid, because of the plot holes and all the stuff that is left unexplained/or half-explained it doesn't really feel good. the story is quite slow paced (not that's a bad thing) but because of the lack of events or progress it feels boring
characters are very simple and plain, there isn't much development bcs they don't really change, on the last chapters even though they are together, the relationship between the couple isn't much different from the beginning, //also a little off topic, i think it was really silly that they were openly intimate at the end bcs they were in public and in russia and bros were just being very gay, kissing and hugging and holding hands LMAO,
on the review the author says they changed the plot mid project and it shows bcs of all the unresolved stuff, and how sloppy it was abt the time travel stuff (didn't made sense tbh)
anyways, uhh it's not a bad story, just very mid, the artstyle is cute, but yeah, the plot is not that great
lmao i know this is gonna end bad and it's shitty af but i still wanna read, im just invested amd want to finish it
i saw s2 already started a while ago on the official app but there nothing here still, does anybody know if this was dropped or smth?
I'm wondering the same thing
