I actually like him a lot, he's flawed, but he isn't a bad person or a bad lover. He just needs to realize there are things certain people need to know in your life. Most of all, I just think it's an issue of quality of the content itself that's making him seem worse than he actually is, like how the author keeps dragging it out with filler chapters and not addressing anything plot related
