Im sorry i think you got this all wrong. You need to understand sooyoung personality first before you can understand Taeseung behavior.
Sooyoung hates people giving him symphaty or excessive kindness. Its his pride as a person. He's also stubborn about this and he see those act of helping him dealing with his disability as a form of insult.
Sooyoung is not the typical damsel in distress uke, you need to give him that credit. He's just a figther type.
