can we as a collective stop using "technically not blood-related" as an argument - it's just weird. yes this specific topic is about a doujinshi aka fiction but this bleeds into the real world as well; like there r statistically higher incidences of sexual abuse/assault or grooming occurring in family dynamics where ppl arent blood related for this reason.

like what is the logical argument for why we should focus on blood relation so much. in this doujin she saw him as a brother, and we know in the series it's the same also. it just devalues non-blood related families as "not real families" as well

I was j saying that from that point of view there is no issue, on the topic of then sharing the same blood. I’m not trying to say that “him lusting for her” is ok or that “sexual abuse/assault/grooming” is ok, I’m just saying that because they are not blood related, if you are worried about them being related by blood, that is no issue since they are not related by blood.

As for the whole “devalues non-blood related families” that’s on you. I wasn’t trying to say that they aren’t family I’m just saying they aren’t blood related. You can’t change that. I didn’t say anything about devaluing non-blood related families.

Say for example you have two teenagers who may or may not be interested in each other. Suddenly their parents marry. Do they automatically just “turn off” their feelings and never like each other in that way? No, that’s not how feelings work. You may think it’s “sick” that Megumi lusts for his step-sister like that, but did he decide, “hey I’m going to go list for my step-sister and want to have sex with her”? Probably not. You can’t control feelings, that’s why they’re feelings and not thoughts. What you do see is that he hasn’t, or it appears that he hasn’t, or we believe he hasn’t (hopefully) actually tried to or had sex with her. That means that at least he has control over his actions not to do that. You can’t exactly force yourself to stop thinking things but you can, to some extent, control your own actions.

And if you want to talk about real world, maybe you should also realize that your comment about this not being “morally right” for your moral standards does not mean that everyone’s morals are collectively the same. And also that there are many genres of fiction that may trigger others so if you don’t like reading them, don’t read them. It’s not going to disappear because of your comment; there are still going to be people out there who like this kind of thing or don’t mind it and just because you are uncomfortable does not mean it will vanish from the whole world. It can vanish from ‘your world’ though, so long as you choose to avoid it like the plague.

TL;DR this is fiction. If you don’t like it, stop reading. Don’t try to be “morally upright” on a fiction piece, go protest your “morally upright” opinions on something in the real world. No one forced you to read this if it makes you uncomfortable (but if someone actually did force you to read this, please get help).

In step-siblings who became that way in their late teens, there is not necessarily any kind of family dynamic accepted by both parties. if you want to use the plot of citrus as an example why don't you also bring up how Woody Allen married his adoptive daughter who he had raised from a young age (around 7 or so) when it became legal to do so? by your standards of "blood relation" there's nothing wrong with this right?

Go protest on every single fiction work that has step siblings in love with each other or age gap or whatever else you don’t like. Just cause you don’t like it doesn’t mean people aren’t going to read it or that it’s going to go away. And crime ain’t gonna stop just cause one person says so, if it blows up, that just means people are going to try harder to cover it up.
