Y'all say you'll drop this after what happens in the novel but don't actually provide the spoilers. Cruel, so cruel :(

Can't say I blame them, 'cause I'm on break after that big gearshift following Blake's curse being broken. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Spoilers, then.

So Ancia decides to go to old ruined city to research Blake's curse, and discovers the ancient hero king Philip + the stigma over the curse is all propaganda. (The curse existed before Philip was crowned, for one. Basically the only thing correct is he was beloved by the goddess of the light.)
The trip is basically a waste of time, since she found out all this history but no clue how to cure Blake.
Plot shenanigans lead to Eunhan leaving the country, various stuff happens, and Ancia cures Blake with an entirely G-rated love confession. And Richard, plus his dad and brothers, are imprisoned for conspiring against the throne.
The author could have ended everything here and it would be fine, all loose ends tied up.
HOWEVER.
Then Ancia starts hearing voices, and ends up going through the door of darkness, where she meets the light goddess who was betrayed and imprisoned there by Philip. She's angry at Ancia, and they switch bodies?
Cue timeskip. Blake and his dad were looking for Ancia everywhere for the past couple years, and eventually they find an "amnesiac" Ancia/light goddess and bring her home. She brainwashes everyone, but Blake knows that's not his wife. Meanwhile, real Ancia gets a job in the palace as a maid, and Blake gets close to her again.
Stuff happens. Richard tries to use Ancia/light goddess to take the crown, and she goes along with it.
Anyway, story basically wraps up with finding out everyone is reincarnated. In the past, the light goddess fell for Philip and gave him access to her powers, which he used to curse everyone who was against him and overthrows the kingdom...which is fine, except he was only using the goddess to get his nasty paws on her married friend (by killing the husband), forced the lady to marry him, and when the light goddess went yandere, imprisoned her behind the dark door and invented a ceremony to keep her locked up forever.
Anyway, Ancia's the reincarnation of the friend, Blake's the reincarnation of her husband, and Richard's the reincarnation of Philip.
Ancia purifies the light goddess, gets her body back, and the goddess is sad that her True Love (Philip) was complete trash.

I know I missed most of the details. If you're curious, read the NovelUpdates spoiler thread.
Funny thing, though. OG!Ancia was NEVER in love with Richard. She thought he was a snake and was keeping an eye in him, but he was so self-important he thought she had a crush. (≧∀≦)

Yeah, let's just say you can follow the first half of the story, but part two is all over the place. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Obviously not counting my summary (I know that's a trainwreck). Seriously, you want coherency, check NovelUpdates. The spoiler thread covers everything, and the novel translation is pretty far into part two by now.

Yeah, I skipped most of part one since you seemed more interested in why everyone is talking about dropping the novel. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
But from this point in the story...I think the next bit is all about family drama, wherein the only good bit is Blake and Ancia's sister meeting and immediately becoming rivals. Then there's a short timeskip, and more focus on searching for clues about the curse, leading to all that up there.
Honestly, I wonder if the author only continued the story because she wanted more mature protagonists, because Ancia and Blake are cute as kids, but their physical relationship is largely limited to handholding. ( ̄∇ ̄")
