To the people who are saying she’s acting bitchy to nine please shut up. She has proven herself consistently throughout the manga to be a bad bitch, suddenly she gets hurt one time and he’s trying to like baby her to the extreme and shut her down from doing literally anything. She’s a bad bitch she didn’t sign up for some male lead to shut her down and forcefully protect her from literally anything. She can’t handle herself, it’s more important that she learns to protect herself rather than rely on everyone else to take care of her. She’s not a caged bird that has to be protected, she’s smart cool and levelheaded, she dosent deserve to be patronized, especially because she’s a woman. (︶︿︶)＝凸
I think that’s a common misconception going on right now. The idea that Nine is acting out of misogyny. While the author might reveal that to be the case, I personally don’t feel it’s that simple. Nine is someone who has been shunned and abandoned by his family. Melissa is the one that saved him from that and showed him what family could mean. How Nine is acting is a result of that subconscious desire to not lose the one family that he has. It’s like a child and it’s parent. He believes his worries to be rational even when we know them not to be. He knows she’s strong and she can handle herself but he still worries. That’s all it is.
This is not to say that Melissa’s feelings aren’t valid but rather that, Nine’s concerns [that he needs to address himself] cannot be simply filed away as misogyny because he’s a man. Thank you
