For me, instead of embarrassment more like disappointment. That she cave in. The Duke was clearly taughting her, making her WANT to say "Stop". He was playing with her, by making her jealous. Sigh.

Sure the Duke was taunting her but like..... Him being the fake boyfriend was Ripley's idea to begin with. He didn't want to do it in the first place but Ripley pushed him to. It only makes sense he would taunt her like that, and she deserved it. Now she won't get stupid ideas like pushing her man onto another woman. Go Duke!!
Huh ? No Ripley didn't ask him to be the pretend boyfriend. She asked Sir Wright to do it, but sir Wright couldn't come because he had some business to do so Zeronis was the one who came instead. She didn't expect Zeronis to come, and she didn't ask Zeronis to be the pretend boyfriend either.
Zeronis quickly learned about the situation and he gave his own opinion saying stuff like he should destroy him instead, make him bankrupt, kill him, etc etc. Because it was easier and more effective
Zeronis actually volunteered to be the pretend boyfriend because he was pissed of what Ripley said about Sir Wright that he was kinder and more gentle and Zeronis was harsh and mean and had violent methods of dealing with the situation

They skipped some part in the novel where Etoire was the one who proposed him to be her fake lover when Wright couldn't come, which Ripley admitted that the duke was the best choice if comparison was being made against the next in line marquis. Note that the duke refused TWICE.
Jealousy is what made Geronis accepted the fake lover thing in the first place when Ripley unconsciously made some remarks regarding Wright.
Besides, I don't really see the appeal of getting more drawn out dramas between couples. "Oh my bf is playing pretend lover with someone due to the fruit of my idea? I guess I should play pretend lover with some guys too then." Like why? Why being petty is better than being honest with what you want? Isn't this exhausting?
This webtoon is more fluffy and light-hearted, so I will say that anyone who wants drama, then lay your expectations low because this webtoon ain't it.
