In my view Brett isn't a great person and he's made his peace with that, he's indifferent to everyone and everything because he's always had everything and his dad plays a part in him turning out this way, he would never have taken the bullet for Hayden or anyone else for the matter if he didn't have anything to gain coz that's not him, it's illogical, he uses cruel logic that's his personality that's why he doesn't understand love coz it's not rooted in logic, his relationship with Hayden only makes sense coz he sees logic in it, like scratch my back and I scratch yours look at how Hayden says that he gives him stuff he doesn't ask for as a way of tipping the scales, He's so detached.

Brett is morally grey in my opinion but he doesn't look down on other people on the basis of their secondary gender he believes in give and take things , I still can't understand why he wanna help alexander but may be he feel that he let alexander bullying despite knowing what's happening with him as a way to help anyway Hayden was at disadvantage since the day he bonded with brett and brett is grown by his father like a alpha who cannot understand human emotions so brett doesn't value feelings and emotions but logical benefits among two people , brett offer to help Hayden also benefits him this relationship was based on benefits by brett but Hayden is normal guy with lots of pheromones and mind problem makes him different and more stronger than other Alphas brett also state that he chooses Hayden cuz he has good eye for people i know this whole relationship was chasing of brett to end of brett Hayden just get along with brett in hope of change but as that old lady who Hayden took advice from told him guys like jenkis never change but Hayden still expected and those ignorance back fired at him at the end brett doesn't tell him things and wanna shoulder and resolved things without including Hayden may be he just doesn't wanna Hayden get injured like he did last time but Hayden is not happy with the way brett things.
