Mishima's mom looks like she is cool with it, and I am hoping Yumeno's mom is too (and protects him from his dad), but Kirino's mom's reaction made me want to retch. That is your CHILD and you want to have not given birth to him because he likes guys? Give me a break. He is the one who shouldn't have to be saddled with a mom like that.
My brother is gay and he came out when he was 20 and since then he became a different person. My parents are avid human rights activists and really open minded so everything was ok and everyone was really happy because my brother had finally embraced his true self, but my parents had to cut tights with other family members because they badmouthed their precious son.My father's aunt came to our house and even suggested to take him to a psychiatrist and my father lost his temper and threw her out of our house.I am so glad that I don't have to deal with those assholes any more.
all the parents reactions in this are spot on. The confused mother who neither rejects or accepts. She merely wants to support her child. The rejecting mother, whom will have people side with her or against her depending on their view of homosexuality and not on the fact that her child should be accepted even if she doesn't like it, she shouldn't be upset about it. And lastly the mother whom pretty much knows and doesn't care unless the child is going to deny who they are. I do love the last mother for questioning if she raised him wrong after he said stuff to make it sound like a phase.
Glad that they did not have a sexual relationship yet and that they are going to wait until the kid is grown. That way there is no icky feeling. I hate pedophilia and was ready to dump this manga had they gone that direction. Instead they are showing understanding and respect for the fact that children CAN fall in love, but at they same time, you wait until they are GROWN. Also like that no rape has taken place.
Okay, so if the kidnap victim likes the kidnapper BEFORE the kidnapping takes place, and the kidnapper does NOT like the kidnap victim at the time the kidnapping takes place, and yet they still fall in love during the course of the kidnapping, is it still considered Stockholm Syndrome? Cause this is some crazy shit going on. LOL
I mean, the kidnap victim saying he wants to remain tied up and threatening the kidnapper into doing as he is told because he is committing a crime, etc... I think they got their roles in this a bit backwards.
But I have to say, it is a refreshing twist on the kidnap turn love trope that some yaoi manga have. I think I will continue to enjoy this particular train-wreck, as it were. LOL
