This honestly shouldn't be tagged as romance since their marriage was more of mutual understanding and care for the children. They have shown love (small gestures mostly in the realm of friendship) but were NOT intimate with each other. They never really grew to close the gap between and they seemed fine with it.
When the kid grew up around 15 years old, she deemed it was all right her to leave and the wizard told her if she wanted to return to her world she asked him to wait for her answer but after a few days she asked him for a divorce. When he asks why she replies with "to find my first love" implying she never really loved him. He looks confused but cool with her decision. She returns to her world in which only one day as gone by since the time she left. Marquis remains alone and grows old, watching as the kids give him grandchildren.
He still think of the FL regretting not doing more (don't remember if it's love he's showing here I don't remember) but he wishes to see her again. When he passes he's reincarnated into her world. FL and reincarnated ML accidentally meet each other, though they don't recognise each other. FL is about to leave when he calls her, asking if he could have her contact and wants to be friends with her. FL is weirded out by this but she accepts. The end.
