well...yeah,it was me who gotten used to traditional art at that time...its like i was only reading clean backgrounded or black and white comics only...it was kinda new to me(as an example idk did you read walk on water, its also had a kinda different vibe in art...but i absolutely loved it tho) ...i think i cared too much for art at the beginning... so i taken aback a little...lol
but now its totally different tho, i can enjoy any kind of art...as long as it has a good plot

dw, all you need to know is that this is korea sometime in the 1800s-1900s? yeah. and back then korea was under japanese colonization (japan brutally colonized korea), so the people in korea at the time really hated japan and japanese people. the main character is part of a resistance group fighting against the japanese rulers and korean people loyal to the japanese. that's why the love interest is so hated: his dad is allied(?) with the japanese and is seen as a traitor to the korean freedom cause. hope this helped lol
