the way mc's learned helplessness is handled here is quite different but still fleshed out. It grates your nerves but it shows you how someone who's been repeatedly mutilated in both mind and body displays self-sabotaging behavior thinking it's for the benefit of others when it's ultimately destructive

Crazy how this is the only work the novel's author put out. One tough act to follow. The novel is a masterpiece, the webtoon is a class act. If they adapt it into a drama they'll have big shoes to fill. (Fancasting ziyu and tian xu ning in my mind's eye)
