Welcome to like at least 50% of yaoi. My theory is so they donāt show the semes butthole bc thatās āgayā. Like Iāve read some deep dives into the why of yaoi in japan (itās a misogyny thing & women not being able to see themselves as sexual->& why old yaoi only had very girly bottoms, they were literally a stand in for the women so females could enjoy smut w/o guilt); & how gayness isnāt a well understood concept in japan. (Historically Yaoi was written for women by women.) So in a lot of Japanese yaoi, the seme is the top & can never be seen as the bottom. So any showing of butthole equates to bottoming. And bottoming is gay. Lots of cultures see being penetrated as gay but being the penetrator, a lot less gay. (Literally look up turkey & the army ie homosexuality, lol.)
