Chapter 5 felt like getting a foot rub then immediately stepping on a tack

We all know that Dan deserves better, but we also have to understand his mind set, he was swept away in a tornado of confusion and guilt over the course of the story, Dan is feeling immense guilt and the need to repay his dept so ofc he’s going to be thinking his actions aren’t enough.

Hopefully the author with bring that realisation through in the future and give us a wonderful “fck this shitti b@stard” era and teach that hollow shell of a meathead that, no, Dan won’t stay your slave forever （￣へ￣）
