well, not all of them were male or were inherited males, but i think you're referring to the prioritization of enthroning men. even if it was, queens/empresses did have roles which were incredbly important such as diplomatic affairs and philanthrophy etc. however, more power was granted to men because the main duty one of the main duties of women were birthing an heir, taking 9 months of their time and probably longer due to poor health care. the queen was also supposed to have less stresses in order to maintain a healthy body to birth an heir.

Okay, but I'm really happy that Naska is an actual character in the story, because with him, it makes the story much more meaningful. Seeing some parts of the story being portrayed from his perspective is so interesting! And his character development and sudden realizations just makes me love this story even more. Oh gosh, he's really my fave character, and deserves to feel love. Kudos to the author of the comic for creating a well-depth character!
