This is tough to say, but Klopp really didn’t think his so-called revenge through. If you read the following books, you’ll understand why he did it, in the novel you’ll understand why Klopp became extremely cruel.
As for the motivations for this revenge, I really think that he used his wife death as an excuse to exact both revenge and his desire. He had this attraction to Aelock, but didn’t pursue it, he instead married someone who looked like him for stability.
But as this revenge went on, I think he felt sick about with how he was executing it, he did throw Aelock away after their second kid was born. And tried forgetting about him, but couldn’t. He took Aelock back, because Aelock wanted to kill himself, and a part of him didn’t want to lose Aelock.
It went from revenge to wanting to destroy Aelock’s remaining dignity.
Volume 2 in the beginning. Klopp described his life after Aelock died. Once he realized it, the tombstone was filled with beautiful flowers. He would visit his grave from time to time. This was not the end that he wanted. He wanted to hold on that person who was becoming light as paper. But by the time, he realized it was too late.
S2 is not going to be as tragic as s1. If you’re interested s2 (or vol 2-3) are finished in knoxt. It’s really good. Hope you give it a chance!

i understand that people might feel uncomfortable after reading the 10 year thingy but for me i think tae is not grooming him at all. He rejected him too and the top is the one who is chasing the bottom on his own. He's the one who develops romantic feeling for Tae. Tae feel uncomfortable with it too and I'm pretty sure tae probably got unalive before even having chapters of him actually developing feelings for the top.
