when would the author pull themselves together and really write the story and focus on the issues in hand from being together and facing his family.. or not.. whatever... instead of going in circles through memories and same type of jealousy either he is jealous of the others friends or the other is jealous of his friends.. just stretching the story to the point it lost its flavor
