She is technically a mercenary bodyguard, so her loyalty stops at a certain point due to her contract. Yes, she's supposed to protect him and possibly get injured or worst case die to protect him, but it doesn't mean she needs to be a loyal, fawning subordinate to him. She should be polite to him as her employer, but it's also common courtesy for him to treat her with more respect than breaking her phone or choking her out in the pool.
You can say he was provoked because he caught her sleeping in the car and swimming in his pool, but he should have reprimanded or penalized her monetarily rather than physically taking it out on her.
It's also mentioned in one of the chapters, the "polar bear" has to use hired hands as his bodyguard, while Asuka gets the loyal royal guard to protect him. Hani has been doing her job and she did try to protect him when he got shot at. Unfortunately, it ended up looking like she tried to protect Asuka, who btw should have been protected by his "loyal" royal guards.
