Idk about the men but every woman around him are smarter than him. They're playing 3d chess whilst he's just wallowing in self-pity omg

Fr. An author has made a poor decision to give his backstory and explain his struggles AFTER all the shit MC has gone through because of him and his neglect. His self pity is so annoying especially when you see the MC fighting for her life and trying to be better, but ML just drags her down with her. It’s especially annoying when you find out that he made conscious decisions to make MC’s life miserable (ignoring how she obviously hated her family, CHOOSING to trust the paper even though he suspected it wasn’t true, etc.)
At this point, this guy is so useless and annoying.

The novel was really short actually. Like 30ish chapters. I didnt like how Cael went about it but I understand why he did it kinda? But i also get why Hestia reacted the way she did
Her exact words:
“Diana must be happy. The second lead protected her until the end.” "In the relationship between Kaelus, Diana and Helios, I’m just an irrelevant third party" “Of course. Kaelus was giving everything to Diana from the original…”
Thats how she felt. It's true that she was too obsessed but she felt embarrassed coz the nobles knew she's after diana yet her husband saved his old flame. It's humiliating. It made her feel like she's not supposed to be in this world. And i get her. Cael knew how his wife felt and he weighed his options for the kingdom BUT he could've communicated with her early on. If i were Hestia I'd be embarrassed to show myself to high society. And if i feel like Cael still has affections towards Diana I'd actually crash out as well. Idk perhaps I'm used to reading about I'd-do-anything-for-you type of male leads in isekai fantasy romance. I'd actually rather have a yandere male lead in fantasy who puts their partner on top priority. Because although what he did was logical, it does feel like a betrayal still. In the back of your head, you'll probably think he still likes her you know. Or that you just shouldn't have messed with the story. But thats just me.
Also I'm saying it's not that bad coz everything actually makes sense. His decision makes sense and it's better that Hes looks more into their future as a purpose in her life here instead of just looking at them as characters and doing the revenge for satisfaction and then that's the end. So even though I didn't like it. It actually is still a good route to end the story.
Cant blame gay usui coz mako's cute
