I think it’s the way that the stories are produced that can be a bit boring overall. If more mangakas brushed up on how they paced their stories like they do for MLM, draw better s*x scenes, and get a bit more creative with the premise of their stories then I think more people would flock to WLW like they do for Yaoi.

it's kinda sad ngl. most people like yaoi because of "hot guys" & they kinda ignore the wlw stuff. even if they did have better art, i doubt it would be as popular as yaoi :(

That's because most wlw stories are super lackluster. Compared to the classic bls which are popular there aren't any such classic gls. Also most bl stories have amazing plots which make ut interesting. I've read 100+ bls out of which ofc some weren't that good but many were actually iconic. Nowadays I've been trying th find gls as well but have really found that many good ones except 3 or 4

the thing is popular --> so you make more --> more popular with a large panel of choices

well it's the same thing with yaoi
yaoi is a little popular --> they make more --> it's even more popular with some good stuff and some really shitty stuff

I think it’s also due to the fact that girls can see themselves in the uke’s position. The seme is always dominating & relentless whereas wlw stories aren’t built like that so girls aren’t going to read it. As fucked up as it sounds, if wlw don’t have fucked up storylines/characters... girls may not want to read it.

Wow it's all so complicated...i just want some good gls with amazing plots. Not like the present popular ones. Pls the popular gls are kinda wierd ngl...sigh I actually want to make a gl manga. I'm really good at drawing manga characters but I dont know Japanese or Korean and I don't think it will be a good idea to release a manga/manhwa in english...if only I was east Asian I would have made some good stories but duh

You can still make your gl manga even if it’s in English. I believe in you! It just takes a while for girl’s to come around to wlw bc we live in a patriarchy so a woman’s love doesn’t feel as intense or enamoring when compared to how much a man loves you. I would most definitely read your manga if you ever decide to make one. (⌒▽⌒)
