From what i remember cosette is his daughter but she died long time ago her mother did some type of deal with a demon and the demon took over her body and i think the father knows that time had been reversed and he has moments where he knows that kierra is the real spirit user

yess thats what it was and probably because he didnt want her to be focused on being outshined by cosette and for history to basically repeat itself but he does remember some point like when people have lucid moments with Alzheimer’s
