she definitely makes him care for her a lot more but he remains manipulative and obsessive so he goes to violent extents in order to keep cayena within his grasp. he kills off her caretaker which horrifies her and makes her realllly sad so in a way she is unable to change the violent temperament of her brother

I also understand why he would get obsessed over her, it's probably the reason he got obsessed with the previous fl.
