Guys serious question.. do u think this manga will ever be completed? It's only at this arc for 41 manga chapters... And the novel is 130 something chapters. It's gonna take 5 years or more to complete.

Yeah it'll take a few years. But thinking about it, it was strategic. We have to wait till next year for season 2, and season 3 will likely be another year after that. The live action drama starts airing next year, slated for reportedly 42 or so eps, which might be divided into a few years for different seasons as well. Likewise, the audio drama is still going on, I think..? Mo dao zu shi is going to be a very long journey on many mediums. I think everything is paced with that in mind. The manhua may be the most behind in terms of storyline, but so far it's following the novel direction without deviation yet, which makes it a special version among a certain fan demographic. I think it'll be worth the wait if we actually get to see some suggestive scenes drawn out? Anyway, it's not like the manhua team are drawing randomly. They've scheduled and drafted and plotted out everything precisely to an agenda. Since it's being advertised right on the donghua every week, it's gotta have some reputation. And there are many cases of manhua switching artists when something is going wrong irl for whatever reason, so if the pace right now is due to issues, then it'll likely be fixed on the way. It isn't an amateur project, it's professional.

The 5 newest chapters are always for paid access on official manhua site. English translators are only releasing the chapters as they become free to public. This move by eng translators is to keep things as fair as possible. That's why they are a bit slower. The russian version is not following this courtesy.
mannn the story has so much potential, too bad it is wasted away like this.
Ugh well i went to like youre comment but hit the dislike instead sorry. I do agree tho its a cute story
I actually liked the pacing. It ended on a satisfying note but also with the right amount of open endless to leave the rest to the reader's imagination. At least it isn't dragged out with endless unnecessary drama.
Although I wish the female lead continued having the same backbone she did in the first chapter. She just let things happen to her contrary to what the male lead said that he liked about her.
