But thats exactly what the manga didn't want to show. The right person will love you with or without extra weight. As the others already said, the only person you should be changing for is yourself and if you start loving yourself it will reflect on others :)
I totally get how you feel as I had set worth issues my whole life and it's hard to follow my own advice. It's just not healthy and makes changing even harder if you hate yourself.
