yeah same. it’s also the same with his thinking with xinlu. he’s hurt but then goes and “protects” him from ilay. it’s like the author (of the novel or this idk) can’t decide on his personality/trait and just made him go with the flow of whatever/whoever top he is with. and there’s literally no chemistry and i can’t see what’s “hot” or “chemistry” between them and i’ve read the worst bls out there
