I read the raw, and with my little to none understanding of korean, it was a way/? from his ancestor. I dont know if that was a curse or what. In the advance chapter they go to the castle to take the artifact but the king golemn was a sly one. Skip, the wife finally see Erden's face, ofc she shock, and he panic, she try to say that he isnt ugly but then headcahe came strong. In that moment, she is faced with something telling her he will die if she said the truth to erden. Skip, they return to Halstead, he tell a man (maybe the one who made the mask and knew the curse) that his wife saw his face, the man seems afraid but after hearing erden's answer he feel relieve yet a regret/sorry(?).
