And then he acts like their issues were obviously inevitable because their mother was a shitty person. If Sangjin’s degeneracy was “inevitable” he wouldn’t have had to groom him into violence, emotional instability, and substance abuse from infancy for him to turn out the way he did. And the MC’s only crime in his eyes is not being perfect all the time, and being suicidal because, what do you know, a lifetime, of abuse, trauma, and deprivation will do that to a person.

Because in manga there's always hospitals, medicine, terrible fever and bed rest involved? Also having to be looked after by someone etc. I've never had a cold that involved any of that stuff just a sore throat and runny nose and nobody I know who didn't already have a pre-existing health issue has needed a doctor for a cold so I was just wondering if it was different for Asians. It's not a crazy question a lot of Asians lack an enzyme to process alcohol so it effects them differently so I was just wondering if the cold virus is different or effects them differently.

Im European by blood and also get bedridden for a day or two practically every time I get sick. I think my body condition is fairly normal too, you sound like you just have an abnormally good immune system, and I don’t think it has anything to do with race

I'm Brazilian and I don't know anyone who got THAT sick just because of a cold, me included. Usually if it's to the point that you get bedridden, it's another illness.

calling it a cold is just purfonctory. it's probably more accurate to say it is a flu or fever. it is normal to happen to overworked/tired workers and students during certain season or weather. maybe blame the working/studying hours and high humidity of many asian regions which help bacteria

if you're talking about "getting sick" in mangas/manhwas, they're mostly just for the mcs to make progress since this is romance.

I mean, it's often used as a plot device, but I did get that sick once. I didn't want to get out of bed, mostly because it was too cold, but I also had a bad cough and an aching throat so I was weak from being unable to eat regular food (swallowing at all hurt so I survived on liquid and soft food), plus dizzy with a high fever. I was out of it for a week and taking cold meds for even longer so I even wondered if I caught covid, but it was long after the quarantine was lifted.

You can still catch COVID now.
