I feel like it would have been better to of just had that talk in the first place instead of causing misunderstandings. Yeah you only want your partner to know the good things about you but its unfair of you to belittle their feelings for you by assuming they'd be disgusted by you. They may not agree with your past behaviour but it doesn't mean they won't still love you.
