I feel like the author set up a few things in the story that they didn't actually do anything with. Like that guy (can't remember his name awkward) said he liked Ageha but then never made any move towards her or anything so it seems unnecessary for him to have said anything at all.
I think that was so Takeru would make his move and admit his feelings. Guys like Takeru tend to be stubborn and need a shove.
