He didn't take Shinobu's body except in the carnal sense, lol. But the translation are better in for these chapters in the book/ebooks so it's less confusing :) and it's through chapter 8. V.B. is quite cool.
I know (that whole arc is confusing, but I'm with you that it is very interesting) but all I can figure is that Shinobu - who has his own issues stemming from childhood - is so despondent from thinking that he disappointed his father (who I think had absolutely nothing to do with him until this job), that he lost it and attacked V.B. That line he says as he cut V.B. about never should have come into/been born, that's how he feels about himself (especially with his father and sister Makio) That's what I'm getting from all this lol :)
