Wren was probably his first love, but he now loves Ethan. And seems like Wren was just worried in that scene in the car. He raised Tristan as parent would do but Tristan from beginning was thinking of him as a man not a parent tho. Entire setting was kinda made so misunderstanding plot line can be pulled up. Ethan has no idea what happened and he sees someone sitting in Tristan's lap in the car, perfect ground for misunderstanding. Even tho Wren could have sit beside Tristan to check his injuries, but again he's super small, fits in his lap and it's perfect ground for creating a little bit of drama for next chapter. As soon as he sat there and they started talking I was like, okay, now Ethan will appear and see them. Exactly that happened
