geez, I've been reading same as you, and same as everyone else.. no reason to be snotty. Of course he was forced into it and wouldn't have chosen her as a bride, who would? But he was completely kind to her, he didn't have to be. He was protective and gentle. He grew to be fond of her, and affectionate, and watched her to see what she was truly feeling. That is overwhelmingly the image he has shown, I don't know why you would ignore that.
