The obsessive emperor died of alcohol poisoning and woke up as the cheating Emperor who supposedly died via poisoning that he took
Basic rundown is:
1st Emperor from chapter 0 was obsessed with his Empress to the point he killed everyone she loved which in turn caused her to go insane, hate him even more and blames it all on herself and him and ultimately killed herself in front of him.
2nd Emperor hates his Empress because she helped him ascend the throne by killing his brothers which caused him to feel humiliation and wanted to break the engagement off but wasn't allowed so he made her life miserable by cheating and poisoning her as well. She literally did not care and just took out any woman involved with him.
2nd Emperor ended up passing away via poisoning while 1st Emperor died via alcohol poisoning and grief. His soul went into 2nd Emperor and hearing the 2nd Empress is deeply in love with him, dotes on her. He got rid of the woman the og Emperor were sleeping with. He even let the 2nd Empress keep the baby that the og Emperor tried to get rid of.

You're welcome. Both Emperors are a POS while the second Empress is just as much as a POS like them and yet people are hating the Emperors more than her. I personally love the 1st Emperor and 2nd Empress, they quite literally match each other.
I do feel bad for the 1st Empress though.
