Yeah, I think after the first arc there still was a point, I thought they would heal after the break and that would be it but it kinda seems like they didn’t have much character development + scene with a very unclear consent (in reality it would be SA), so… yeah, quite disappointing and it’s def dragging on.

the obession is what he is focusing his goals on but he does seem to have other things going on. he cares about the beastmen's rights and is trying to help them i think.
I see his obsession as the catalyst that allows him to control his beast side. The only thing strong enough to keep whatever was controlling him in the past from taking over. Otherwise the way he acts around her is his real personality.
