...As much as I hate cheating, I thoroughly enjoyed this. It's been quite a long time since I've grown attached to characters, so much I was at the edge of my seat HOPING there'll be a miracle, and that they'd be given second chances to live... and love.
Such complex characters, well-written and gut wrenchingly realistic. Though I still have doubts even irl that cheaters will still find a way to cheat, there's still a part of me that hopes and believes that change is indeed possible and not unwelcome at all.
Forgiving is a humane and understandable act that we go through at various points in our lives, it is selfless... and selfish at times. Wanting to keep something, holding on to a broken rope tied again with risks of it splitting yet again. All because of a scary, silly thing called "Love." From the eyes of other people, you're an idiot. But once you're the one standing in such a position, you'll realize just how hard it is to let go of such a special person, whether they changed something in you, good or bad. You'll forget for years and years, but it'll always be there at the back of your mind, it sticks like a piece of gum, messy and haywire.
Yet I can't help but contemplate, it's possible. To forget, and then forgive. Slowly but surely, replacing all those bad memories with new and improved ones, it might not be fully gone, and nobody can fault you for that. Whether it be other various versions of betrayals, not only between couples, but friendships. Families. Like a wisp of dandelion waiting to be blown, it is your choice if you wish to admire it, or blow... a whisper of forgiveness. It's a beautiful thing either way, because you're deciding for yourself.
I really loved reading this story, tho the characters are very flawed, I can see myself treading the same path as some of them, and I can see other people doing the same. And I liked that. I like how cruel the world is, and just how at times it proves itself that it's worth it. To live. Even if the world would end someday... I think it's beautiful that before life is truly gone, people would choose to be with the people they love until the very end. I think that's what living the moment means.
