no offense but who are you to decide that? it sounds like you are undermining hyesung’s agency for the sake of sounding morally superior and just. yes rape is detestable and awfully traumatic, but forgiveness isn’t up to you, it is always for the survivor and their situation. saying it should never be forgotten means you think people who have been raped should continue to never see themselves beyond victimhood and should ascribe to these non-nuanced boundaries that YOU think should exist. and also saying byul will never understand how “he was created”??? like do you want children conceived from rape to just permanently think of themselves as lesser than??? permanently dwell on it and let a past they never had part in be a part of their identity??? you dont have to ignore everything dojin did, he is deserving of condemnation, but your thought process of why you think hyesung deserves better isn’t as empathic as you think it is.

We can forgive or not forgive, but our opinions wouldn't really matter in their story. I think by "never forgetting trauma" they meant, us as the viewers, shouldn't sweep dojin's actions under the rug and forget everything, since they used the pronouns "we" instead of using hyesung as the subject, and as an SA survivor that's what I thought they meant until I read your reply. Also for the last part, I don't believe there was any implication that Byul should think of himself as less than because he was born from SA, although I've read it over and over again, rather in my perspective they said that because Byul doesn't know the full story, and therefore acted verbally harsh towards his mother. I believe the commenter was speaking from their position as a viewer only, and not what they think hyesung should think and do, and they don't mean any harm :3.
