I think hide is in the hospital, maybe in coma (or something like that) because there was a chapter where Touka was in the hospital visiting someone and I think it's possible but i'm not sure. But I really miss Amon too ╥﹏╥

It is really a NO, cuz Kaneki don't really finish him (Amon), he gone in a rush to save the others and let him there, meanwhile he met Hide, who is missing, cuz the manga NEVER show Hide dead, just showed him talking with Kaneki and after Kaneki alone, we don't know what happend with him, but is true that the greatest supposition is that Kaneki ate him :( But in the beggining of these series we know Tohka was visiting someone in the hospytal, that could maybe be him.

I see a lot of people being confused because of the 1st line of the manga but .... Taira was NEVER 8yrs old in the story, he was 8 years YOUNGER than Azuma and was a middle school student (while Azuma was in college and in his twenties).
When he came back after 4years it was to attend college so at the beginning of the story Taira was at least 13 or 14 and his older version is around 18.
