Soma was the MC and that was wonderful since it gave us a chance to walk in in his shoes while he went through life's challenges with not only his family but also at Tooski. Even through the silliness of the Blue arc, we were still rooting for our boy.
Now someone explain to me when it became the Nakiri show and Soma dropped down to a secondary character. What obsession does this author have.
We finally get a chapter about Soma and his mom and dad and again it becomes all about the Nakiri family show...sigh..
Now all i want is for this series to finish off so i can mark it complete and move on from the nonsense it has became..

Yes but what help did he actually give her. She still treats him like he is inferior to her and his cooking is sub par. That has not changed since day one. So what has this author accomplished thorough out this series. Not much other than grand staging Nakiri and her family. What should have been fun for us in reading about Soma and his parents finally it again became about Nakiri and her issues with her father.
If the intention of the author was to have her front and center then that should have been established earlier on that she was the MC and Soma was the side kick.
But that is all no longer here or there. The series is winding down and all of us have stuck through it all. Lets just hope that we get a least a decent ending for our boy as well.

I disgaree tbh. The fact that she treats soma’s cooking as sub par is because she knows she can make something better and she can. This unsatisfaction that soma gets from her is what drives him to create a dish that will make her say it’s delicious which in time alongside studying, battling and practicing, causes his whole cooking to improve anyway. The whole underlying plot is to find someone you can cook for - this is what saved saiba and what soma has been looking for this whole time. At the start if Erina had just said that’s delicious to his dish, cause she knows it was pretty good aha, we’d have no plot lol.

Agreed on the point that Erina with the God Tongue is par exellence and that Soma had a long way to go before she acknowledges his cooking. That was never an issue for me. What is the issue is that through out this series Soma has simply been a vehicle for the author to showcase her and her families issues. Again i have no problem with that but when we finally get a chance to learn about Soma and his mom, it again turns into poor Nakiri and her issues with her father.
LOL like i said in my last post. My venting is done since the story is winding down and the author is not going to change his POV now.
Looking forward to the finish so i can put this puppy to bed.
always like chapters where we get to see more of what the person is thinking or feeling, more of a connection with the character..and love that he is feeling jealous
