I think this is the point, we don't know and neither do they. It's shown that the real enemy is still alive and that they don't know if they still have a tomorrow. So to me it seems like Yugeon is clinging onto him to affirm that they're still alive. I do think blondie (sorry can't remember his name) has feelings for Yugeon but idk if that could be called love at this point
They are indeed in love but a twisted kind of love, they'll only learn how properly love eachother by the end of the story ( saw this in the novel )
