Totally get your point.
She experienced the lows of life, that's why she is rational and practical about it. Indeed, real life is not dramas/novels where a huge gap of status in life can be solved with mere "because we love each other". This is a fresh take, the FL knows that entering such world, you need to integrate into their world, the etiquette and etc... (there are lots to learn). I hope this won't change... we'll see.
