Extremely unpopular opinion: I don't think the ending was that terrible. In fact i wasn't surprised at all with the way it ended. NO, the author didn't explicitly explain what happened to the asshole ex or whether he had a good conversation with his parents, but it's clear what the author was trying to convey, for us to come up with the conclusion on our own. The terrible ex most likely didn't die as Woojin didn't want to do anything that would hurt Haegyung (if you remember Haegyung explicitly stated he didn't want to ruin the terrible ex's life despite being scared of him and he also didn't like Woojin doing such things as close to murder as he would get separated from the MC for getting caught). So you can conclude that the ex most likely isn't dead. Next, it's obvious that from seeing MC's mother at the end that the MC, sooner rather than later, had that much needed conversation with his parents. We're just unfortunate to not see it. Maybe in the side stories if we ever get any.
Why am I not surprised by the ending? It's actually quite common for novels in Asian countries to end as ambiguous as this. Or to have an ending that leaves us guessing because we're supposed to understand from the context of the final chapters that there was a happy ending. Not always does a novel end this way but it's quite common. I specifically say novels as I find it rare for manhwas to end this way since they can shell out the time to create the story and art and I've mostly seen this type of ending in actual novels. I still remember the first time I read an Asian novel with this kind of ending. It was so frustrating but my native Japanese teacher made my class read it to understand that in many Asian novels we have to just assume that there was a happy ending/or bad ending, based on the context.
Also... yes, the author has some health issues but idk if they'd be so satisfied with that ending if it hadn't already been planned. Aka, the side stories would explain it more.
Just my unpopular opinion. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

I know its partially Chinese censorship but I'm annoyed that sometimes the guys' chests are covered in like a "layer of black" and then other times they aren't. Like... if you want to "censor" their chests artist, MAKE IT CONSISTENT

No but honestly- censorship aside- it’s weird as f*ck that the whole male tribe is somehow decked out in matching mass produced spandex sleeveless turtlenecks in a time period where cloth doesn’t exist and everybody wears animal hides… author needs to try a little harder.
PS whoever invented sleeveless turtlenecks is clearly an anarchist. Either it’s cold or it’s hot. Pick one.
I decided to look up the novel/raws and I went on Novel Updates... who knew the cover of the novel was so goddamn pretty... I mean I went "OML". Duke Ivilaron is so handsome!!
