Im sure the person who said that believed too much in Cale's words, since the novel is written mostly from his point of view. He always talked about how he wants to slack and how he always leave the hardest stuffs for others to do, but everyone around him finds the things Cale deem easy the hardest and also the person who works the hardest. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ That reader probably has trouble reading in between the lines.
