The fact that I can’t even stop reading because of how good that seme’s character is. Yes, he’s so fucking annoying, manipulative, and fucking piece of shit but thats why it’s so good. To the point where even the dumbass audience also gets swayed by him.(if the audience that’s behind the fourth wall is like this already, imagine the ikr, the victim of the actual manipulation.)
Thaf seme is good, and story is captivating if u read this story as a psychological story. Not fucking PORN, or heck even boys love. This is not love or even sexy smut. It’s a fucking shame that instead of progressing with the story and exploring the depths of the characters, the fucking author decided to make this a boys love with smut focused. It’s really a waste of a good character like that seme.(again, NOT his behaviours but him as a character.)
Yaoi (BL) features romantic and/or sexual relationships between men. So it is BL according to the definition. Even though the sex is drawn all smutty.......I'm still terrified the whole time because the characters are written so well. I'm not misled by the smut/erotica at all. This some psychological, tragedy, horror type shi. The "ML" being pretty and "sexy" is terrifying and reminds me of actual attractive men/women who commit vicious crimes then get fan edits of their trial on youtube. BUT I agree and/or I know what you mean.
I think you're mistaking BL and Yaoi as same thing; BL is short for "boys love", which is also known as shounen-ai, which is not smutty. Yaoi is term used mostly for mangas which includes sex scenes between men, sometimes yaoi mangas are often also bl, because there is romance between main charatcers
I personally wouldn't call this manhwa "BL", because there's not "Love" in it, but yaoi instead, because there's sex between men
But honestly I don't know if I would categorize it in any of those terms, because let's be real, there's no love, there's no homosexuality, no romance no nothing... I would say it's more of an psychological horror with only MrM scenes ;;
Also you're so real with the celebrities or tuening crimminals into idola because they're hot ;; honestly makes me nauseous just like this manhua lol... And lol I didn't read your comment completely, I agree with everything you said, just wanted to clear out the common misconception about term bl and yaoi being the same thing
I'm sorry, I should have specified. Dictative (In japan), BL and yaoi are separate. But I am referring connotatively, because in the west/mangago they are used interchangeably. It's a psychological yaoi because there are sexual themes involving men, even without love. I've been reading/watching yaoi/BL/shounen ai since 2009 so I know all the ACTUAL meanings. But I code switch depending on who I'm talking to, but you meant actual BUSINESS
Just wanted to add that the main reason yaoi and BL is not the same is because bl definitely have love, while yaoi might or might not have. It’s a bit off setting when u call this particular yaoi(a pure SEXUAL relationship and NO LOVE,) a BL(which definitely has contents of LOVE). Especially we both know that in this story, there is no love but just sex(forced & non consensual btw). So I almost that u saw the two of them as potential romantic partners. I know u probably didn’t mean it, but pls do know the importance of when u mistakenly use BL for a messed up yaoi like this
If you're old enough to read these disturbing genres, you should be able to distinguish whether this is love/romance or not without getting it confused by the offset of new fujoshis throwing around "BL." But I 100% understand why it's triggering for you tho! Words lose their meaning over time, even if the direct translation says otherwise, so I'm not hung up as much on vocabulary, I just care about intent, I'm sorry.
people who enjoy this as a couple and for porn are sick in the head.
(Sorry I’m overwhelmed)
Plus people who treat this lightly. “Damn this is red flag but oh well lol” “sene is so fine” “ooo black flag” stfu like do u not see the whole plot of this? It’s fucking psychology for fuck’s sake, not fucking just porn or even boys love.
And the worst thing is that the fucking author themselves draw the focus on the fuck scenes and all.(I mean, typical anyways)
But oh my days I’m gonna fucking try reading the novel and see how it’s like.
But , if you read novel you can understand that there is no romance in this , this is just a story of a two twisted men, here because thoughts and expressions of MC are not clearly shown we are not understanding but it's author never made it a romantic thing, heck at one point , during gang-rape scene, MC thoughts were so... Idk how to put it but real and even ending was twisted...
try your luck here, you have to search novels in korean of course: https://booktoki468.com/novel/7576586?book=%EC%99%84%EA%B2%B0%EC%86%8C%EC%84%A4
No, tbh I just love messed up things, like these twisted stuff with like even fetishistic nature. I love the dynamic of toxicity. the thing is, I can’t see them as in love and idw it to be so focused on porn either, because that’s not the main thing I want, I want plot, characters. All these brutal stuff that seme does to uke just (unfortunately) add depths to the fucked up ness. Also, I explained why in the other comment above
Sure, I get that. But the plot itself in this story is very sparse in comparison to the violence. Which is why I said I found the whole “just here for the plot!!” Rationale to be disingenuous. There are stories that don’t linger so intensely on the traumatic act itself and focus on the effects on the person, but this isn’t really that kind of story.
The emotions and expressions of the Characters were portrayed really well. But the actuons werent adapted well enough. It seems like it was rushed. In the novel, you cannot see the expressions of the characters but you know how they feel from their actions. In webtoon, its kore focused on the words and narration of dokja, not really from the words.
I’ll be honest, i’m a petty little joongdok fan. I was irritated at the fact that it was rushed. The meaning of the fate was left more blur in novel. Yjh crouching down and holding kdj and screaming his name. Well, they did put those scenes in webtoon, but shouldnt it be more detailed?
Maybe because i already knew what was going to happen, my heart didnt beat like crazy like it did with novel,(wven though i was still anxious on my 3rd novel reread)
Anyways dont take this too hard, i’ll always love orv in any form
I mean I get the part where the handsome side seem raping the stalker but about mc not trusting that stalker? No. Mc was SAd by him multiple times. Not only that, he stalked mc for like 2 yrs. Theres no way hes going to believe anything he said. If i was the victim, im not going to believe the person who SA’d me and stalked and i would choose to believe someone like that side seme

I was writing a lot then my phone crashed and I lost so I’ll only write the bad part, just know that I was glazing this manhwa.
BUT AS MUCH AS I LIKE THIS, I HATE THIS. BRO THE AMOUNT OF POTENTIAL THE SEME HAS TO TURN THIS STORY INTO SMT ELSE!!
Bro like the moment i saw the last panel of s1 i was jumping because hell yes that's what he's supposed to do??? This story, the dynamics, characters, background story and the foreshadowing keep getting me on the edge thinking when will he do anything crazy.
I swear the character is so well written for different genre like psychological, AND NOT FUCKING COMEDY. Ik they have cute moments but don’t let it fool u from the potential of seme.
Irlly hope author explores that part of the story. Like for starters how author dropped so many signs of seme manipulating uke by leaving the diary on purpose, literal death threats to the friend bc apparently he wasn’t in good mental health?? (And makes it so sure that he is very healthy in mental health now? The thought of him breaking even when he have uke’s love and therapy excites me.) plus The dad??? I still have A LOT to mention but anyways, I hope author take some psychological aspects into this story.
If u get what I mean want smt similar, try ‘the uncomfortable truth.’ It’s FUCKING GOODDDD but it’s way deeper and darker than this. Step bros theme, but no romance(but author say up to interpretation)
