they both left their DNA all over the place and body. they're fucked

Yup I thought that way too .. criminal minds

yeah, the other police officers aren't favouring him either. but remember when seungbae had his first meet with sangwoo, he was sitting on the passenger seat with an old man. he could be the helper for seungbae, though we still don't know how reliable he is or seungbae's other connections either.

then that old man definitely knew something about sangwoo and had to remind him for he know seungbae's personality. seungbae could gain some information from him (i said so because i think that old man probably knew sangwoo since the first parents murder case and being passive instead), though i agree that seungbae will need to find the evidence all by himself afterall.

We have yet to be given any indication that Seungbae had shared his investigation with someone else. He's pretty set on doing it alone, which is pretty much a terrible idea. Because realistically speaking, and as Jaz had mentioned, DNA analysis is expensive af. And so far, Koogi has been consistent on integrating reality in the series. So if he wants to perform forensic analysis, then he needs to inform his superiors about this (in our country only liscenced individuals have legal access to forensic laboratories, i'm not familliar with korean law). ( I kinda doubt he'd tell since he DID hack into his superior's computer to get information but this is not of importance yet) Anyway, either that or he does the forensics illegally.

Oh sorry, my mistake Jaz did not indicate anything about the expense. I'm basing my analysis on where I live. As I have mentioned only liscenced people are allowed to conduct these tests, usually budget is from a private sector if the analysis is done independently without any funding. But in police departments, of course the funding comes from the government. Again I'm not certain if this also applies to Korean law so ┗( T﹏T )┛

Sorry I didn't specify what I meant by support. I meant he'd need cooperative support from his colleagues/police department. If the police department supported the investigation then funding would not be an issue. I doubt Seungbae has licencing to do forensic analysis or even the education to do it illegally. He's really not authorized to do investigative work for the police either. Since he was demoted, he's only a patrol officer. If Seungbae were to convince his partner, that still wouldn't be enough to do testing in a lab. Getting the police department to approve would be very difficult for Seungbae since he's notorious for following hunches rather than solid evidence.
There's still the question of if there will be any viable DNA at the scene if the investigation gets that far, as Anoni said above.
I LOVE THAT SONG
