House Vilium was the only Dukedom in the Kingdom. Now that ML won the war, he requested the title of Duke, which he tur Ed down previously. He did that so that FL wouldn't have to bow her head to anyone bc of her background. Now, she's a Duchess. Plus, House Gartt has power now and if Carnie (red head) marries into a Count's House, it would put their status lower. Especially since the Count probably doesn't hold any kind of special connection in society. Also, Carnie always thought she would marry ML and be Duchess in House Gartt. Her brother wanted her to marry that Marquess Romain to at least make a familial connection to the throne.

Carrie made herself and her house look like a fool. Now, bc of this, her father is just trying to marry her off and get her out of their hair and hopefully, she won't make any more trouble for the family and grow up and become a proper lady.
